Set up the iOS companion
- Install and open Cairn for macOS.
- Open Remote > Jump Host and complete the guided AWS setup.
- Open Remote > Pair iPhone.
- In the iOS app, tap the plus button and scan the QR code. You can also copy and paste the pairing code.
Connection troubleshooting
- Keep Cairn running on the paired Mac and make sure the Mac is awake.
- In Cairn for macOS, open Remote > Jump Host and confirm the tunnel is connected.
- Confirm the AWS account and CLI profile used during setup are still active.
- On iOS, open the host again after changing between Wi-Fi and cellular.
- Enable Settings > Show connection log to capture a local diagnostic log.
Revoke an iPhone
On the Mac, open Remote > Paired iPhones and remove the device. This removes its SSH authorization immediately. For complete credential cleanup, also delete the matching cairn-iphone-* IAM user from your AWS account.
Purchases
Cairn for iOS is a free companion to Cairn for macOS. macOS purchases, downloads, and receipts are handled by the p10q store. The iOS app does not sell or unlock purchases.
